Hope Community Church is hosting the 2018 HAM Festival to generate funds to pay for the processing of Hope's Operation Christmas Child shoe box campaign that will spread the Good News to remote areas of the US/World.
As a member of the body of Christ, it is our responsibility to reach out to the lost both locally and throughout the world (Eph. 4:1-16, 1 Cor. 12:12-14); this is accomplished through outreach ministries.
Our primary outreach is participation in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child (OCC). This ministry extends to more than 100 countries and introduces children in remote regions, orphanages and other at-risk areas to Jesus Christ. The gift of a shobox includes a 12-week Bible study program, whereby many children and families are reached. In 2016, we provided shoe boxes to 309 children in foreign lands. In 2017, that number grew to 339.
For our local outreach, we focus on at-risk youth and their families within the community and surrounding areas. Carroll County, Virginia is overwhelmingly consumed with drug/alcohol addiction and unemployment that affects individuals, children, families, and the community. Funds raise for local outreach will be used to purchase a van to transport youth to/from church, youth programs and events, provide Bibles, build a playground, and eventually provide an addiction counseling program.
